Total ban on pangolin trade

The most trafficked animal in the world curls up into a ball when it is threatened. This is a great defence against a curious lion, but not against a human, who can simply pick it up. But there was good news at CITES CoP17 on 28 September when the Parties unanimously agreed to a total ban on trade in all eight species of pangolin.
